Meeting called to order by President Liddle.
Roll call: Present: Liddle, Amundsen, Pricks, Miller,Abody, Vihstadt.
Absent: Dallpan.
Upon motion by Vihstadt, seecnd by Moody, the Minutes of the meeting
held on June 12th, 1931)were approved.
President piddle announced this as the time and place fixed for hearing;

on the construction of t,,1irt sanitary sewer commencing it the center Of the
intersection of Eighth Street Southeast and Eighth Aven e Southeast and
and running; westerly along the center line of Fligrth foutheast for a distance
of 188 feehand asked if there was any person present who wished to be heard
concerning this improvement.
There was no person present who wished to be heard in regard to the
above described sanitary sewer.
President Liddle announced this as being the time and place fixed
for hearing on the paving of the alley running North and South across Block
twenty-five of Head and McMahon's Addition of the City of Rochester, Minnes-
ota Ito the width of eighteen feet with seven inch one -course steel reinforced
oGncrete)and asked if there was any person present who wished to be heard
g concerning this Improve;pent.
There was no person present who wished to be heard concerning the
pavement Obove described.
G. Worth made a plea that the Common Council reconsider the abandon-
f the proceedings for the paving of a part of Tenth Street Southwest and of
Plirnmer's 9
cad and President Liddle'referred the request to the Street and
Alley Committee and the City Engineer and asked that all members of the
Common Council be present at the Committee conference on the subject.
Balance Sheet, Income Statements, etc, of the Public Utility Depart
ments prepared by the Secretary of the public Utility Board as at .May 31st,

In regards to an increase in salary of the building,
electrical and plumbing inspector on account, of the greater burden
and obligation placed upon him by the passage of a plumbing ordinance.
The master plumbers of the city of Rochester recommend
paging the inspector the total rea&I:pte derived from the plumbing
inspection Pees, up to the amount of four hundred dollars ('400,00)
per year.
In the event, the inspection fees exceed the amount of four
hundred dollars.(400.o0) per year, the surplus to be placed with
the regular city funds,

motion by Hicks, second bjr Moody carried that the City Attorney be instructed
to draw warranty deeds to be executed by the property owners concerned,
transferring the title to the City of Rochester, MinnesotaforPublic
Street purposes I. e. such as may be necessary for the opening of the above
described :'ourth Place Southeast, Thirteenth Avenue Southeast, and Fourteenth
Avenue,Southeast.
M. C. Lawler, as a 47�embur of the Chamber of Commerce Committee on the
matter made oral recommendation that proceedings be started for an extension
of the local Public Heating system which will carry that service in the alley
Wect of Broadway Street South south as far as Fourth Street Southwest.
Upon motion by Vihstadt, second by Amundsen request was made of the
Public Utility Board that they cause plans, profiles, specifications and
estimate of cost to be prepared for the extension Of the Public heating system I
in the alley West of Broadway Street South south as far as Third Street South—
West, and if money is to be available to prepare for the extension t,.o Fourth
Street Southwest.
The following copies of resolutions passed and adopted by the
Commissioners of the Sinking Fund were each read and upon motion by Vihstadt,
secc:nd by Moody the actions set forth therein were approved and it was ordered
that the said copies of -the resolutions be piaeod on file:

In the 1930- tax levy, a levy was made
for the payment of interest on City of Rochester Improvement
Bonds, dated February 1st, 1930, issued for the construction of
a new, Central Fire Station, for payment into the Interest
Fund of said City, and

Fund for that purpose and disbursements have been made for the
payment of interest leaving a balance in the Interest
Fund at this time Of 1,1325.61, and

to attend to the cancellation of the Fire and Tornado Insurance on the City
Hall wilding effective on July 1st, 1931 and the cancellation of the Fire and
Tornado Insurance on the Public Comfort Station at such time as the building
is torn down.

feet West of the East line of Sixteenth Avenue.northwest to a grade to conform to

and specifications for the grading above described and ordering that the same

Upon motion by hicks, second by Amundsen, the Police Committee were
authorized to purchase fire extinguisher for use on the Police automobile, a
First Aid kit and a second-hand typewriter.
Upon motion by Miller, second by Moody, the City Clerk was instructed l�
to request of Heffron and Fitzgerald that in accordance with the agreement

made at the settlement for the new Central Fire Station construct ion,)they make ,
satisfactory repairs tD the floors in the first and second stories of this
building as soon as possible,
Upon motion by Vihstadt, second by Amundsen, the City Engineer was
authorized to expend A199.00 for the making of maps for the use of the City
Assessor.
Alderman Dallman called, attention to the vffiWwr lb r increased
sanitary sewer facilities in the section of the City near Second Avenue
dortheast and Second Street Northeast and President Liddle referred the
natter to the Sewer Committee and to the City Engineer v+d th instructions
that they make report thereon at the next meeting of this Common Council.
The matter of additional salary for Don E, Postier, Buildings
Electrical and Plumbing Inspector )on account of the duties added to his
Dffice through the adoptiont of an ordinance providing for plumbing
inspectioniwas considered by the Common Council and upon.mot.ion by

Viller, second by Amundsen, the City Clerk was instructed to draft a
resolution providing that he ab=34 be paid such plumbing inspection
fees as may be paid to him in an amount not to exceed 1300*00 forr.the
balance of this official year with condition that these fees shall be paid

the fees were collected and that at the next Council Meeting following
