Meeting called to order by President Liddle,
Roll ce-ll: Present: Liddle, Ahiundsen, Dallman, Blebs, Miller,
Voody, Vihstadt. Absent: None.
Upon motion by Hicks, second by Dallman, the minutes of the
meeting held on June 29th, 1931 were approved,
President Liddle announced this as being the time and place fixed
for hearing on the levying of special assessments for the grading of
Second Street Northwest between Thirteenth Avenue Northwest and Sixteenth
Avenui Northwest, and asked if there was any person present who wished to
be heard concening this improvements
there was no person present who wished to be heard on any matter
concerning said grading.
President Liddle announced this as being the time and place fixed
for hearing on And tho levying of special assessments for the grading
to an established grade line of,the alley running East and West through
Block 8 in William McCullough's Addition., and asked if there was any person
present who wished to be heard relative to this grading.
There was no person present who wished to be heard upon en y
matter concerning this improvement.
President Liddle announced this as being the time and place fixed
for a hearing"on and the levying of special assessments for the construction
of a sanitary sewer din Seventh Street Southwest from the center of Eighth
Avenue Southwest to the West line of Ninth Avenue Southwest a ld extending

South along the West line of Ninth Avenue South-west to a point 161 ft.
South of the center line of Seventh Street Southwest and thence across
Ninth Avenue Southwest to the East curb line of Fi.nth Avenue Southwest,
and asked If there was any person present who wished` to be heard con —
corning this sanitary sewer.

The f ollowing claim made by Martin Paulson was read for its
posmible effect on the report of costs for t.i.-..e above described sanitary
sewer, and the City Engineer insisted that this claim for rock excavation
in excess of that allowed by him in his estimate in favor of Mr. Paulson

Alderman Dallman introduced a resolution levying special assessments for
he cost and expense of the grading of Second Street .Northwest from a point eighteen
et East of the West line of '_[thirteenth Avenue Northwest to a point, thirty-three
et West of the East line of Sixteenth Avenue Northwest to a grade to comform
o the curb and getter now in place to a width of twasty-four feet, being twelve
Feet in width on each of the North and South sides of the center line of the said

Upon motion by Vihstadt, second by Dallman, that the said.resolution
e adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle declared
he said resolution duly passed and ado-oted.
Alderman Amundsen introduced a resolution levying sr;eeial assessments
or the cost and expense of the grading to an established grade line of the
lley running East and West through Block Eight in William McCullough's Addition,

Upon motion by Amundsen, second by Moody, that the said resolution be
opted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle declared the
aid resolution duly passed and adopted.

line of Seventh Street Southwest, if extended, and asked if there was any
person present who wished to be heard concerning this grading.
There was no person present who wished to be heard relative
to this improvement.

for hearing on the paving of the alley running North and South across .Block
twenty-five in Head and McMahgn's Addition, to the City of Rochester,
rdinnesota, to a width of eighteen feet with seven inch steel reinforced one
course concrete, and asked if there was any person present who wished to be
heard concerning this paving.
There was no person present iho wished to be heard relative to
the above described paving.
Upon motion by Miller, second by Vihstadt, the time limit for the
completion of the grading of part of Fifteenth Avenue Southwest, as above
described, was extended fifteen days beyond the day'fixed on th4speeifieation
for this grading.
An amended plan prepared by .the City Engineer for the grading
of Fifteenth Avenue Southwest between Sixth Street Southwest and Seventh
Street Southwest was submitted, and the following copies of Notices to
Bidders and the following corrected estimate were each. reed and upon motion
i! by Dallman, second by Amundsen, the last quoted estimate, made by the City
Engineer, was accepted, and the said amended plan was approved:

This correction is accounted for by reason that through a

After a recess of approximately two hours, reports and recommendations
were presented to the Common Council and President Liddle called the Common Council

Departments, prepared by the Secretlary of the Public Utility Board as at

Upon motion by Hicks, second by Vihstadt, the sum of '"21,60 was
appropriated from' the General Fund, and it was ordered that the said sum be paid to
Olmsted County, Minnesota for fines collected due to Olmsted County, Minnesota,
