Minutes of a special meeting of the Common Council of the
City of 8oeheeter, Minnesot&q held in the Connell Chembere, .1n the seaont
floor Of the Ckember Of C m erce building in said City, at 1: 30 O'clock P.M.,
on May 17th91932:
Meeting called to order by President Liddle.
Roll Call. Present: Liddle, Amundsen, Dallman, Hicks,
Miller, Norton. Absent: Moody.
The call for the special meeting was read; said meeting
being called for the purpose of selection.of a Custodian of the new City
Hall, and any other business that the'said Common Council might deem proper.
'Alderman D611man introduced the following resolution, which
was read:
"BE IT RESOLVED, By the Common Council of the City of
Rochester, Minnesota:
That the resolution heretofore passed by the Common
Council of said city

repealed in its entirety:"
Upon motion by Norton, second by Dallman, that the said
resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President
Liddle declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted.
Alderman Miller introduced an ordinance to provide for the
appointment of a custodian of the City Hall property for the City of.Rochester
and prescribing the powers and duties of the said office, which was given its
first reading.

suspended and the said ordinance was given its second reading.

Upon motion by Dallman, second by Amundsen, that the said

�I appointment of a City Weirahmaster for the City of Rochester, and prescribing
the powers and duties of the said office, which was given its first reading.

Upon motion by Hicks, second by Dallman, the rulesr�were. -
suspended and the said ordinance was given its second reading.
Upon motion by Norton, second by Amundsen, the rules were
suspended and the said ordinance was given its third and final reading.

Upon motion,by Hicks, second by Miller, that the said ordinance be
adopted as read,.and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle declared the said
ordinance duly passed and adopted.
Alderman Miller introduced an ordinance to repeal ordinance No.360, the
same being anordinance to provide for the appointment of a caretaker of the
Witherstine Property for the City of Rochester, and prescribing the powers and duties;
of the saidq,office, which was given its first reading.
U-lon motion by Hicks, second by Dallman, the rules were suspended and
the said ordinance was given.its second reading.
Upon motion by Norton, second by Amundsen, the rules were suspended and
the said ordinance was given its third and final reading.
Upon motion by Miller, second by Hicks, that the said ordinance be
adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle declared the said
ordinance duly passed and adopted.
The following appointment was read, and President Liddle ordered that
the same be placed on file:

Honorable Common Council,
City of Rochester, Minnesota.
Gentlemen:
Under request of the Commissioner of Agrequiture of the
State of Minnesota, I have this day appointed Fred R. Witzke as Weed
Inspector for the City of Rochester, Minnesota, for the period
ending on October 15th,1932, at a salary of 50/ per hour and q per
mile for traveling expenses while traveling solely on weed inspection
activities.

The application of A. G. Berndt for a public dance permit at the
Woodman Hall May 21st , 19329 May 28t h,1932 , and June 4th,1932 , was read,
Alderman Ricks introduced a resolution appropriating $984,13 from the
Park Improvement Fund and ordering payment made to the Mayo Trust Fund for payroll for

labor during the period of the week ending May 13th91932, which was read.
Upon motion by Amundsen, second by Hicks, that the said resolution be
except Alderman Miller, who voted "Nay",
adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof,/ P resident Liddle declared the said
resolution duly passed and adopted.
Alderman Miller introduced a resolution granting public dance permit to
A. G. Berndt for the Woodman Hall May 21st,1932, May. 28t r,1932, and June 4th,1932,
and fixing the fee at $15 000 9 which nias read.

resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President

Liddle declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted.
Upon -motion by Norton, second by Hicks, Henry?.C" Lindberg
was:, infbimally,$ppointed custodian of7 the`: City' Hall for" the ensuing official
year -;-with formal action to be taken accordingly after the ordinance

assistance is necessary•

Council adjourned.
