Minutes of an adjourned regular meeting of the Oomffion Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers in the City,Hall in said City at 7:30 o'clock P, °M.; on- Jume 299 19324 Meeting called to order by President Liddle: Roll Call: Present: Liddleg Amiundeen, Dallnan, Hicks, Miller, Moody Absent: lortone Upon notion by Moody, second by Aatundsen, the minutes of the meetings held on Jume 69 1932 and June 15th, 19329 were each approved. President Liddle announced this as being the time and place fixed for a hearing on the construction of a Sanitary Sewer in Eleventh Street Southeast, between the manhole at the Sewage Lift Station and a point 190 feet West of the West line of First, Avenue Southeast and, the laying of a Water Main in said part of Eleventh f _e Street Southeast, and asked if there, was any person present who wished to be heard relative to either of the said improvements. There was no.person present who wished to be heard concerning the said Sanitary Sewer or the said Water Main. Alderman Norton came in at .this time a nd took his Chair6 This being the time and place fixed for the opening of proposals, for the construction of the above described Sanitary Sewer, and the ling of the said Water Main, the following bids were opened and read: C. Gentl amen: Your committee appointe& to further investigate the matt6r of possible solutions of the natural gas problem in the city has held a Jarge number of meetings with all persons and parties interested in the natter and after carefully considering all suggested solutions have arrived atr the conclusion that the best procedure' for the interests of the entire city is that a, franchise, be, granted to the Minnesota Nort3ftern Natural Gas Company under and in accordance with.U6 terms and` -conditions of the attached ordinance and that in order to expedite matters a prior ordinance in the nature of a revocable permit to install gas mains be granted to that company to connect up with the large industrial loads in said City, which said ordinance would merge with the franchise granted at the time of the taking effect of the franchise. We therefore recommend than the attached ordinances be immediately adopted and that the Common Council suspend the rules in order that the work necessary for the installations required by the proposed grants be undertaken without arq delay whatever.
