Mit -on October 24th, 19324 �. Meeting called to order by, President Liddle. 1 Roll call: Present: Liddle, Amundsen; Dallman;. Hicks, Miller, Moody, Norton. Absent:. None: Upon motion by Amundsen, second byicks, the minutes of the 4 40 meeting held on October 20th9 19329 were approved. President Liddle announced this as being the time and place fixed for a hearing on and the levying o especial assessments for the cost and ; expense of repairing sidewalks,and asked if there was any person present who wisbdd to'be heard concerning any repairs made. There was no person present, who wished to be heard concerning the charges for renaira to sidewalks, and the City Clerk reported that no e�cti ema .. had been filed against any billing made for 19`32 sidewalk written obi repairs. �! Approval of the 1932 tax levy made by Independent School I� District Number 8, was discussed and motion by Norton, second by Miller that a resolution be prepared approving the said. levy at %274$223:529 lost by the following Tote% Ayes: Miller, Nortong Nays: Amundsen, Dallman;, Hicks; Moody: A motion by Hicks, second by Dallman, that the said levy be approved at $2859000-10009 carried by the following vote: Ay6s: Amundsen, j Dallman; HYcks, Moody. Nays: Miller, Norton*, Alderman Hicks introduced the following resolution, which was read: I, tY "Be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota: I }< That the said Common Council does hereby assent to and approve the levy of taxes to the amount of Two hundred and eighty-five thousand dollars ($ 265000000) for general -school purposes, made by V�-e Board of Education of School District NO% 8 of the said City on the 4th day of October, 1932, on the taxable property within said School District No. 8." Upon motion by Moody, second by Amundsen, that the said resol- ution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted: President Liddle at this time excused Alderman Dallman, who �. left the Council Chambers: The report of the Clerk of the Municipal Court for the week P P , I i ending October 24th, 1932, showing criminal fines collected %132080, civil fees I received Ue-70, court costs charged to Olmsted County $4,35, fines collected due to Olmsted County 120- 00, and gambling money confiscated 19.459, was read, and President Liddle referred the same to the City Attorney, Upon motion by Amundsen, second by Moody, the sum of $200,00 was , appropriated from the General Fund, and it was ordered that the said sum be paid _-6V ,11 to/Olmsted County, Minnesota, for local municipal court fires collected, due to Olmsted Countyw Minnesota: . Alderman Dallman introduced a resolution appropriating $500.00 from the Sewer Fund, Code 13, for payment to Sewer Fund Code 4, as a transfer to make the said sum available for general maintenance of the sanitary sewer system, and the trunk line sewer system, which was read. Upon .motion by Moody, second by Amundsen, that Vie said res- olution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle ecla,red the said resolution duly passed and adopted. Alderman Amundsen introduced a resolution appropriating $634,50 from the Sewer Fund, and order:i.ng payment made to City of Rochester, Light Department for electric power furnished to local Sewage Disposal plant, which was read. Upon motion by Dallman, second by Moody, that the said res- olution be adckpted as read, and all- vot-ing in favor thereof, President Liddle declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted, Alderman Hicks introduced a .resolution appropriating $649,15 from the Park Improvement Fund and ordering payment made to Mayo Trust Fund for payrolls for labor during the period of the weeks ending October 14th, 1932)and October 21st,1932, which was read. Upon motion by Amundsen, second by Hicks, that the said rear olution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted. Alderman Amundsen introduced the following resolution, whi.th was read: "Be it and it is hereby resolved by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota: That said Common Council. does hereby assess and levy against the lot or lots, parts Of lots and pieces and parcels of land hereinafter described, on,account of the sidewalks repaired opposite thereto by the City Engineer of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, under and in accordance with the provisions of Sections 249 to 257 inclusive, oft the Charter of said City, during the year 1932, as assessment and interest, the sum set opposite the same as follows: N=es of Owners.
