The application of Anna McCue, for a solicitor's license was read, uponmotion by Doody, second by Dallman, license was granted. The application of A. G. Berndt, for a public dance permit at the Woodman'H6.11 November 12th, 19th, and 26th,19329 and Dece-:iiber 3rd,1932, and the application of Gerald Cunningham, for a public dance permit at the Woodman Hall, November 9th,1932 , were each read. The application of C. E. Ginther, Chief of the Fire Department, for vacation dtarting November 9th,1932, and continuing for ten days, was read, and upon motion by Norton, second by Moody, the vacation requested was granted. The following communication was read,; and ]'resident Liddle ordered that the same be placed on file: "October 28, 1932• Mr. A. F. Wright, City Clerk, City Dear Sir: The cost of the gravel in the bin at Grassle Pit will run about .56 per cubic yard. Upon. motion by Norton, second by Amundsen, it -,was ordered that the assessment resolution levying special assessments for the 1932 sprinkling of First Avenue Southwest, between Fifth Street and Sixth Street, be cancelled, as therevwas no formal order for this: sprinkling. The following claims were read, and upon motion by Amundsen, second by Norton, the same were allowed,, and the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized and directed to draw warrants upon the City Treasurer and make payments accordingly: From the General Fund: Joseph J. Alderman Dallman introduced the following; resolution which was read: "WHEREAS, In the resolutions passed and adopted October 24th91932, authorizing the Public Utility Board to pay ten per cent (10Wo) of the gross income on the operation of the local light and water departments into the treasury of the City of Rochester,Minnesota, for general tax purposes, one of these resolutions gives authority for payment "to the General Fund,of the City", and the other gives authority for paymentto the General Fund, or such funds as are deemed advisable by the Common Cduncit" , and WHEREAS, The General tax levy for 1932 took consideration of a distribution of this income pro rated to each fund as to their share in the total, and WHEREAS, Such authority herbtofore given is not definite as to the payee fund, and WHEREAS, The ,appropriations made October 31st,19329 by the Public Utilit-ir Board to the General Fund of said City were spread and credited to the various funds pro rata share as the$' -appear in the 1932 tax levy; SO THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota: That the distribution of the said October 31st91932,appro riations by the Public Utility Board are hereby in all things confirmed and approved, and Be it further resolved by the said Common Council: - That further --appropriations made by the Public Utility Board of the ten er cent (10%) on ross Incomes shall be made payable to the City Treasurer of the My of Rochester,'Ail nne- sota, who will distribute the said appropriations in percentages as follows: General Fund 26.09% Street and Alley Fund 4o07% Fire Protection Fund 12.67% Sewer Fund 6.02% Bridge Fund 3.04% Park Improvement Fund 10.18% L i rrht ing Fund 14.66% Library Fund 3.59% Musical En#ertainment Fund 1.16% Interest Fund 3.46� Sinking Fund 14.33% Firemen's Relief Fund .73% Be it further resolved by the said Common Council: n TTha. th said 1 for distribution of the said Incomie payments shall remain and be in e feci t8 Wid including the appropriations for"May 31:Vt,1934.' Alderman Miller introduced the following resolution, which was read: "WHEREAS, There are not sufficient funds in the City Treasury of the City of Rochester, Minn?sots, for the payment of the cost and expense of the repaving with No.l 2�-" vitrified paving brick, of Sixth Street Southwest, between the east line of Second Avenue Southwest and the east line o Seventh Avenue Southwest, and consequently it is necessary to issue fifteen thousand dollars (015,000.00) City of Rochester, Minnesota, 4q';� kepavinZ Bunds, a:ad WERHAS, Chapter 168 of the Laws of Minnesota, for 1927, provides authority for the issuance of repaving bonds to realize funds for the payment of the cost and expense of repaving streets, and WHEREAS, It is deemed necessary and expedient that the form of the said fifteen -thousand dollars ($1::,000.00) repaving bonds be prescribed and adopted by this Common Council, and it is necessary to sell and issue at this time thirteen thousand dollars (�'13,000.00) par value of said Repaving Bonds under and by authority of the said Chapter 166 of the -Laws of Minnesota, for 1927.
