Minutes of a special meeting of the Common Council of the City of
Rochester, Minnesota, held in thd'Council Chambers, in the City Hall, in the City
Hall, in said City at 7:30 o'clock P.M., on December 23rd,1932.
Meeting called toorder by President Liddle.
Roll Call. Present: Liddle, Dallman, Miller, Moody, Norton.
Absent: Amundsen, Hicks.
The call for the special meeting'was read; said meeting being
called for the purpose of considering ways and means to speed up definite award
of local post office contract, and early beginning of construction, and any other
business that the said Common Council might deem proper.
G. Schwartz, of the local firm of G: Schwartz & Company, asked than

the Common Council use their influence toward the award of the local post office i
contract to his company on their bid Nc.3, and gave the following tabulation as being
the bids of the four lowest bidders, •Atha bid of Anderson & Company having been
thrown. -out as no certified check accompanied it:

Upon motion by Dallman, second by Moody, it was ordered that a
Committee be appointed with power to act in the drawing of a resolution soliciting
the proper government 9fficials that the No43 bid of G. Schwartz & Company be
accepted, and President Liddle accordingly appointed Alderman Norton and architect
Crawford'as members of the said Committee, and made request that the Mayor serve
with this Committee.
The delayed proposal of the Sinclair Refining Company for the

furnishing of 25,000 gallons or more df gasoline, post marked out of Kansas City,
Missouri,at 7:00 P.M. December 2191932, was read, but no consideration of it was I
taken, first because the proposals for the furnishing of this gasoline were opened at
1
7:30 o'clock P.M., on December 19th,1932, and second because the proposal was not in
for according to ;specifications; their quotation being 3-� cents per gallon below
posted service station prices of seller prevailing on day and at place of delivery,
for delivery by tank wagon.
Alderman Hicks came in at this time and took his Chair.
Upon motion by Moody, second by Norton, t11e Commo Council adjourned.
