Minutes of a special meeting of the Common Council of the City
of Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chtimbers, in the City Hall, in said
City, at 7:30 o'clock P.M., on April-24t'h,1933. -
Meeting called to order by President Licidle.
Roll Call. Present: Liddle, Amundsen, Dallman, Hicks, miller,
Moody, Norton. Absent: None.
The call for the special meeting was read; said meeting being
called for the purpose of decision on route for the trunk line sanitary sewer.
The City Engineer submitted an est imat e of cost for the con-
struction of the proposed trunk line sanitary sewer in First Avenue Northeast,
between Thirteenth Street and Sixth Street, as being 40209105.28, with an additional
cost for getting throligr. Block 319Northern Addition, and an additional cost of
:;"'5043.13 for running back to Broadway Street North in Sixth Street Northeast, at
such time as the balance of the trunk line system. is constructed, to which last
mentioned figures he allowed a credit of $1598*60 as the cost of the proposed
18 inch sewer running from Broadway Street Nort!:. to First Avenue Northeast, in
Si =th Street Nord -heist, reducing the $5043.13, to $3444053, with the comment that it
1931 that section was bid at $1562.50.
He also submitted another estimate of cost for the First
Avenue Northeast route using the Burns & McDonnell prices and adding twenty five
percent for doing by day labor, plus ',',633.63 office expense, field work and
inspection, to make a total of $21754.94, not considering cost of getting through
Block 31 in Northern Addition.
He also submitted addenda No.l to these estimates of cost for

First Avenue Northeast plan showing the necessity o f a raise in the levels of a total
of .86 feet required to run around the Kruse, Fitting, and Kruger properties, makin;
an addition of `pN876.09 to the estimates above set forth.
President Liddle ordered that the said estimates of cost and
addenda be placed on file.

A committee appointed to investigate the matter of the probable
expense involved in running a proposed sanitary sewer across Block thirty-one
in Northern Addition to the City of Rochester report as follows:

That the property owners across whose property the line
has been suggested to run have set the figures opposite their
names as the amount they believe their property would be dam aged
by said sewer line, to -wit:
Kruse -Lamella Manufacturing Co. and North.
Side corporation n2000.00
Otto A. Fitting 1000.00
Welter Be Kruger 1500.00
This is the infozmation your committee was requested
to obtain and we submit it for your consideration.

Matters pertaining to this proposed trunk line sanitary
sewer were discussed by the Common Council; the Mayor insisting that.
Burns & McDonnell be engaged at a fee of 1200.00 to $300.00 for e, few
days services checking the City Engineer plans.
A motion by Norton, second by Idoody, that the Common
Council adjourn, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Miller, Moody,
Norton, Liddle. Nays: Amundsen, Dallman., Hicks.
