Minutes of an adjourned regular meeting of the Common Council
of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers, in the City Hall,
in said City, at 7:30 o'clock P.M., on June 15th91933.
Meeting called to ,order by President Liddle.
,Roll Call. Present: Liddle, Amundsen, Dallman, Miller,
Moody, Norton. Absent: Hicks.
Upon motion by Moody, second by Amundsen_, the minutes of the
meeting held on June 5th91933, were approved.
This being the time and place fixed for adjourned and
continued action on the proposals for the con st i.uct ion of a trunk line sanitary
sewer in part of Broadway Street North, and Dourth Street Northeast, submitted
by the bidders June 5th,19339 further consideration was given to the matter and
in order to qualify this improvement underthe .Public Works Bill recently adopted
by Concgress, being; continuation of the proceedings until government aid for it
P.a,y be reco;nized, a motion by Moody, second by Amundsen, earried treat further
action on the said proposals be adjourned and continued to 7:30 o'clock P.M., June
28th,1933.

1933, to November lst,1933, and asked if there was any person present who wished to
be heard relative to the sprinkling or treating.
There was no person present who wished to be heard concerning
the sprinkling or treating of the above described streets or avenues, and Alderman
Dallman introduced a resohJtion making a formal order for the sprinkling of the
above described parts of str Bets and avenues, June 16th,19339 to_November lst 919339
whisk was read.
Upon motion by Moody, second by Miller, that the said resolu-
tion be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle declared
the said resolution duly passed and adopted.
Chas. Dzialdowski, and Co A. Johnson, claiming to represent
the so-called unemployed Council, together with E. G. tappelle, asked that the
existing Milk Ordinance be amended so that it will allow producers of grade A raw
milk to distribute their Product direct to consumers in the City of Rochester,
Minnesota, and they were told to instruct their producer constituents that these
constituents shad put their Premises, equipment, stock, etc., into what they deem
to proper condition for the Production and delivery of grade , A raw milk, and then

call for an inspection by the local Milk Inspector with condition that
those who are not passed by the Milk Ispector as being qualified, may
come before the Common Council In appeal against the Milk Inspector's
decision.,which shall be set forth In a written report filed by him for
each of those cases where he disqualifies the Producer**
L. E. DeVogel, living at .904 Fourth. Street Southeast,
made complaint about the U turns .being made by automobiles in Ninth Avenue
Southeast, and about cars parking on the west side .of Ninth Avenue Sout ().-
east opposite his property, and upon leaving the parking-; space, backing
out of it and across Ninth Avenue ontohis boulevard and sidewalk and even
beyond his propert r line, at which President Liddle referred his complaint
to the Street and Alley Committee, the City Engineer, and the City Attorney.
George T. Trenholm, of the Rochester Bus Line, sub-
mitted a proposed time schedule change for discussion by the Common
1 1 I 11 Council, and after consideration of it, motion by Moody, second by Amundsen,
carried that Mr. Trenholm be allowed to put this schedule into effect.
Allen E. Farnham asked that provision be made for the
f supervision of the Slatterly Park Swimming pool, and upon motion by Moody,
second by Amundsen, request was made of the Board of Park Commissioners
that they provide for a qualified person to take charge of the bathing at
Slatterly Park pool, the compensation for which should not be more than
$100.00 for the 3 months

ments may be made for conferring Police &uthority upon him for that loca-
tion.
Kris Nielson, Bert Leitzen, and Arthur Carroll, asked
that Fourteenth Street Northeast, between Second Avenue Northeast, if
extended, and Eleventh Avenue Northeast, be improved,and made the state-
ment that the Cascade Township Board is -ready to assume their share for
the grading,, etc. , of the north half of this street, between the limits
mentioned, at which President Liddle referred their petition to the Street
& Alley Committee, and the City Engineer.
Alderman Fijeks came in at this time and tool{ his Chain

Upon motion by Amundsen, second by Norton., and a17. votin,7 in
favor thereof, 0. W. Schroeder, was duly appointed County Commissioner for the
Second Commissioner District of Olmsted County, for the period pending on the first
Monday in January, 1935.
President Liddle at this time excused Aldermen flicks, and
Dallman, who left the Council Chambers.

license in a root beer stand (wagon) ,at 106 Broadway Street North, was read, and

The report of the City WPir;hmaster for the month of May,1933,
showing; weighing; fees collected in the amount of $13.90, was read, and President,
I,i.ddle referred the same to the Finance Committee.
The City En;-i.neer's department trial balance for May,1933,
was laid before the Common Council, and President Liddle ordered that the same be
placed on file.
General Balance sheet, trial balance, fund statement, statement
of unexpended Midget appropriations, 4tc — of the City of Rochester, Minnesota,
prepared by the City Clerk as of May 31st,1933, were laid before the Common Council,
and President Liddle ordered that the same be placed on file.
The report of the Building, Electrical and Plumbing Inspector,
for blay,19331 showing butIding inspection fees collected $14.00, . electrical inspec—
tion fees 19.50 t and plumbing inspection fees $9.50, was read, and President Liddle
referred the same to the Finance Co r::mitt ee .
The report of the Health Officer for the City Farm, for May,
1933, showing receipts in the amount of $6650669 disbursements $965.799 and balance
on hand $266.02, and 249 hogs on hand, was read, and President Liddle ordered that
the s.,me be placed on file.
The report of the Clbtk. of the Municipal Court, for the week
ending June 12th,1933, showing criminal fines collected 052.( 0, civil fees received

month of May,19339 was laid before the Common Council, and President
Liddle ordered that the same be placed on file: the said report showing

of Rochester, for library purposes, the property formerly owned by

Plans $profiles ,specifications and estimate of cost for the
extension of the existing Police Alarm syste11., for the-mo,:ing of the First Street

Alderman Amundsen introduced a resolution appropriating

deportment depretiation reserve investments for the July lst,1933, maturity of
5% note issued to L. 11. Feller, or order, dated November 9th,1932,$2811.66, and

Upon motion by Norton, second by Amundsen, that the said
resolution be 1,do_,ted as read, and all voting in favor thereo', President Tjiddle
declared the said resolution duly pasted and adopted.
Alderman Norton introduced a resolution appropriating714.17
from the Park Improvement Fund and ordering payment made to the Mayo Trust Fund
for payroll for labor during the week ending June 9th,1933, which was read.
Upon motion by Amundsen, second by Norton, teat the said
resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle
declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted.
Alderman Norton introduced a resolution appropriating

Upon motion by Moody, second by Amundsen, that the said
resolution be !;dopt(,d as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle
