ordered that the same be placed on file:
To the Mayor and City Council
Rochester, Minnesota.
We, as members of the United Workers Association of Olmsted County,
ask your assistance as public officials to accomplish our desire
to obtain jobs sufficient to take us from relief rolls. We feel that
relief rolls must stop growing, heads of families who earn a hundred
dollars per month or more must be satisfied and until there is a real
demand for their labor must keep their wives off jobs needed for fam-
ilies having no means of support. Your problems as officers of the county,
city and community are the same as our and those are to get families
on a safe self supporting basis as soon as possible. Until the time
comes that every able bodied man or woman is off the relief roll, we -
ask that no married woman whose husband is earning a hundred dollars
or more per month be permitted to work or take jobs from workers wo
must work or gonon relief:►
