Meeting called to order by President Liddle: Roll Call. Present: Liddle, Amundsen, Fryer, Green, Lemmon, Moody, C Richman. Absent: None. Upon motion by Moody second by Fryer, the published minutes of the meet- ing held July 1, 1935, were corrected to read July 1, 1935 instead of July 5, 1935, omitted from said minutes, I , a resolution which was 'authorizing the City Engineer to proceed with the Bitminous Treatment of streets under City force account was incorporated.therein. Upon motion by Moody second by Fryer; the corrected minutes of the meet- ing held July 19 1935 ;and the minutes of the meeting held Julyl5, 1935 were each approvedi President Lriddle announced this as being the time and place fixed for the opening of bids for 200 metal street signs,► The following bids were opened and r ead: Standard Manufacturing Company - four-way sign complete not erected $50,25, each; two-way sign, delivered, not placed $5.25 each. Mr. L. D. Williams was before the Common Council with a complaint about the over -flow of the creek on his land, which he claims to be caused by the laming up of the creek at Slatterly Park; and upon motion by Moody second by Amundsen, the chair was requested to appoint a committee to meet with Mr: Williams and investigate the matter; President Liddle, accordingly, appointed the Common Council as Committee of the whole, the City Attorney, the City Engineer and the Park Board, and requested that this Committee meet and report in the matter as soon as possible; Julius J. Reiter was before the Common Council with a request that the Council take advantage of available P. W. A. funds for work programs in the City of Rochester; and Ralph B. Public Health Nwses was read, and President Liddle ordered that the same be placed on file: ij Alderman Green introduced an ordinance regulating the placing, erecting and maintaining of signs over public streets, sidewalks and public grounds in the City of Rochester, Minnesota, which was given its first reading: A. Upon motion by Amundsen second by Moody the sum of $4040 was appropriated from Code 18 of the, General Fund, and it was ordered that the same be paid 'to Olmsted County, Minnesota for local Municiapl Court fines r collected due to Olmsted County. The report of the Building Inspector for the month of July 1935 showing building inspection fees collected $28.00, electrical inspection fees collected $19.50 and plumbing inspection fees collected $72.75, was read, and President Liddle referred the same to the Finance Committee: The report of the Milk Inspector for the month of July 1935 was heed, and President Liddle ordered that the same be placed on fileii The report of the City Engineer for the month of July 19359 showing the sum of $629.37 expended for labor from the General Fund, $�69;.76 from the Street acid Alley Fund; $90;12 from the Sewer Fund, $580.00 from the P. Mayor of the City of Rochester, Minn:" # and j t WHEREAS, There are not sufficient fundsin the City Treasury of the ' City of Rochester, Minnesota, for the payment of the cost and expense of i; the repair and repaving of the above described streets and avenues, and it: is consequently necessary to issue thirty-five thousand dollars (3b,000) E 'I City of Rochester, Minnesota, 3% .Repaving Bonds, and WHEREAS, Chapter 168 of the laws of Minnesota, for 19279 provides + authority for the issuance of repaving bonds to realize funds for the i payment of the cost and expense of repaving streets, and i 1 9 1EEREAS9 It is deemed necessary and a edient that the form of the said thirty-five thousand dollars ($35000:00) repaving bonds be prescribed and adopted by this Common Council, and it is necessary to sell and issue at this time thirty-five thousand dollars($3590000-00) par value of said Re- i f paving Bonds under and by authority of the said Chapter 168 of the Laws of Minnesota, for .19270 SO THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota: That said bonds shall be dated September lst, 19359 shall be payable at the office of the City Treasurer in the City of Rochester, Minnesota, shall be thirty-five (35) -in number and numbered one (1) to thirty-five (35), both inolusive, in the denomination of One Thousand Dollars ($19000.00) each, shall bear interest at the rate of three per cent (3%) per annum, payable semi-annually, on the fir st days of September and March, and shall mature Seven Thousand Dollar's ($79000000) on September 19 1936, Seven Thousand Dollars ($7000.00) on September 1st; 1937, Seven thousand Dollars ($7,000:00) on September 19 1938, Seven Thousand Dollars ($79-000.00) on September 1, 1939-9 and Seven Thousand Dollars X.17,000.00) on September 1, 1940011 Be it further resolved: That said bonds shall be in substantially the following form: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF OLMSTED CITY OF ROCHESTER No. ...
