The call for a special meeting was read, said meeting having been called for the purpose of considering the approval of the Park Board We. P. A. Project, covering the general development of five Rochester parks) namely, Park St. Marys, Slatterly Park; Kutzky Park; Mayo Park, and Soldier Memorial ;Field, and any other business the Common Council might deem proper: The following communication was read, and the application mentioned therein was considered, after which, upon motion by Lemon second by Fryer, bhe request of the Park Board, as presented in their letter was granted; and the City Clerk was instructed to sign the certificate on the�,pplication, Dn the part of the City of Rochester, Minnesotat "August 14, 1935. Honorable Mayorand Common Council City of Rochester, Minnesota. Gentlemen: In order to submit the WPA Project covering thw General Development of Five Rochester Parks, namely; Ste, Mary's Park, Slatterly Park, Kutzky Park, Mayo Park, and Soldiers Memorial Field, it is necessary that definite action be taken to assure that the City will make the contribution of $89766;34 as its share. The total amount of the project is $86,733:44, and $779957.10 is to be secured from Federal Funds; Then the application can be given to the proper authorities for approval. Therefore, the Board of Park Commissioners respectfully request your Honorable Body to approve the contribution of $89766.34 by the City of Rochester toward this project: Respectfully submitted, Harold Thompson President" m, s, 165 The applications of James P. Sullivan for seventeen "Pin and Ball" Machine Licenses were each read, and upon motion by Amundsen second by Richman; licenses *ere grantedi ' Upon motion by Lemon second by Fryer, it was ordered that the Bill of Sale filed by Mike Caffes with his application for 302 Beer License, be returned to himi } A communication from the Red Wing Junior Chamber of Commerce relative to the President's new regulation that ninety percent of those employed on P.W.A. Projects must come from local Relief Rolls, was read, and President Liddle ordered that the same be placed on file: The City Attorney and the License Committee orally reported in the matter of the application of John Bremer, Phyllis Bremer and Leonard Karau, for an "on Sale" Li-cense to sell liquor at 15 Broadway Street South, and stated that the delinquent personal property tax of Roy Masuda at this location, has no oonnection with the issuance of a license to any other person or firm at this address, and upon motion by Amundsen second by Fryer; the license was.granted: The "on Sale" Liquor License Bond of John Bremer; Phyllis Bremer and Leonard Karau, with the Western Surety Company, as Surety thereon in the amount of $3,000400 was read, and upon motion by Lemon second by Amundsen, the Surety thereon was accepted, the said bond was approved, and it was ordered that the same be places on file: Upon motion byL'eVaog second by Moody, the Common Council adjourned.
