October. 79 19354 Meeting called to order by President Liddle Roll Call. Present: Ri chm an. Ab s ent : L emmon. Liddle, Amundsen, Fryer, Green, Moody, Upon motion by Moody second by Richman, the minutes of the meetings held August 23 and September 3, 1935, were each approved. President Liddle announced this as being the time and place fixed for hearing on the proposed grading down or filling in to a true crown, the construction of the curb and Bituminous treatment on parts of streets described in the resolution passed and adopted September 6, 1935, and asked if there were any person present who wished to be heard regarding there improvem ent a4 Remonstrances against the proposed improvements on Eleven and a Eleventh Street Southeast Half Place Southeast, Seventh Avenue Southwest and Ninth Street South*Wrest, Sixth Street Southeast,and Third Street Southeast, were each read, and resident Liddle ordered that the sam,+e placed on file. There was no person present who wished to be heard on any of these improvements: Aldermen Moody questioned the advisability of extensive Bituminous eatment of streets at this time due to the unsatisfactory condition of First Street Southeast, and other treatment done this season: Alderman Lemmon came in at this time and took his chair. Upon motion by Moody second by hnundsen, the Common Council were appointed a committee of the whole to meet with representatives of the MW 249 Barrett Company and the Bituminous Sarf ce Treating Company for inspection of the streets on which Bituminous treatment was placed this season, and the City Clerk i was instructed to notify the Barrett Company and the Bituminous Sarftce Treating Company of this action, and the City Clerk accordingly addressed these companies as l follows: i "Gentlemen: At a meeting of the Common Council of this City held yesterday after- noon, I was instructed to request that you have your representative meet with; the Common Council as a Committee of the whole, for investigation of the streets of this City on which your bituminous treatment was placed this season. i i Kindly let us known as soon as possible when your representative can be here. Upon motion by Lennon second by Amundsen, action on these improvements .was adjourned until such time as definite information is received from the Public Works Administration in regard to allotment of funds for this purpose. President Liddle announced this as being the time and place fixed for the hearing on the widening of First Street Southwest from Second Avenue Southwest to Eleventh Avenue Southwest, and asked if there were arty person present who ;sashed { to be heard concerning this improvement: There was no person present who wished to be heard regarding this proposed widening of First Street Southwesti Upon motion by Moody second by Green, further action was abandoned on this improvement under W..P. A. President Liddle announced this as being the time and place fixed= for hearing on the construction of sanitary sewer in part of Fifth Avenue Southeast, between Eleventh Street Southeast and Twelfth Street Southeast, and asked if there 1 were any person present who wished to be heard concerning this improvement. There was no person present who washed to be heard concerning the con- 250 OCT 7 1935 struction of Sanitary Sewer in Fifth Avenue Southeast4 President Liddle announced this as being the time and place fixed for hearing on the Bituminous Treatment of Fourth Avenue Southwest between Fifth Street Southwest and Sixth Street Southwest, and asked if there were any person present who wished to be heard concerning this improvement: There was no person present who wished to be heard in regard to the Bituminous Treatment of Fourth Avenue Southwest, as above describedta Upon motion by Lemmon second by Moody, further action on the Bituminous Treatment of Fourth Avenue Southwest was adjourned to the first Monday in May 19364 President Liddle announced this as being the time and place fixed for hearing on the construction ,of Sanitary Sewer in Eleventh Street North- east between First Avenue Northeast and the Alley running north and south through Blocks 35 and 36, Northern Addition, and asked if there were any person present who wished to be heard concerning this. improvementi There was no person present who wished to be heard concerning the construction of a Sanitary Sewer as above des cribedi Alderman Green stated that arrangements had been made for sewer connection for the new home of Enoch Di son, and that there was no need a sewer in this street-4 The Building Inspector called attention to he City Ordinance providing for only one house -connection to each "Y" action on the sewer. Upon motion by Moody second by Richman, proceedings were andoned for the construction of sanitary sewer in Eleventh Street ortheast.
