Minutes of a special meeting of the Common Council of the City of
Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City, at
5:15 o'clock Pii? M. , on November 26, 19351
Meeting called to order by President Liddle:
Roll Call: Present: Liddle, Amundsen, Green, Lemmon, Moody and
Richman. Absent*. Fryer.
The call for the special meeting was read, and President Liddle ordered
that the .same. be placed on file, .said meeting having been called .for the purpose of
making appropriations for principal and interest due December 1, 1935 on City of
Rochester, Minnesota bonds; and any other business the Common Council might deem
proper:
Alderman Amundsen introduced a resolution appropriating 1p507.50 from
the Permanent Improvement Revolving Fund; and ordering payment made to the First
of interest
National Bank of Rochester, for the December 1; 1935 maturity/on City of Rochester
42% Permanent Improvement Revolving Fund Bonds 14?7.50, and for the December 31,
Improvement
1936 maturity of interest on City of Rochester 4% Permanent/Revolving Fund Bonds
$80.00, which was read:
Upon motion by Moody second by Amundsen,thtt the said resolution be
adopted as read; and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle declared the
said resolution duly passed and adopted.
Alddrman Richman introduced a resolution appropriating $10,000-000
from the Permanent Improvement Revolving Fund, and ordering payment made to the
of . Rochester , Minn.,
First National Bank/for the December Is 1935 maturity of City of Rochester Permanent
Improvement Revolving Fund bonds Nos: 19, 20, 43, 44, 459 73, 74, 85, and 86, and
for the December 319-1935 maturity of City of Rochester Permanent Improvement
Revolving Fund bonds Nos. 62 an¢ 639 which was read?
Upon motion, -by Amundsen second by Richman ,that the said resolution
be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle declared the

said resolution duly passed and adopted. I.
Alderman Moody introduced the following; resolution which was
read:
"Be it resolved by the. Common Council of'the City of Rochester;
Minnesota:
That the -sum of $2881:99 .be and the said suns is hereby appropria-
ted from the Bridge Fund of said City End ordered paid to the Bearers
of the following notes issued by the City of Rochester toward the
cost of the construction by L. M. Feller, of a bridne on 4th St. S. E,
over Bear Creek:
$2011.70 note issued to L. M. Feller, -due 12/l/35, $ 29061-099
800000 note issued to L. M. Feller, due 12/1/359 62040
The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to
dram a warrant for said sum upon the City Treasurer in accordance
herewith, and cause said payment to be made. "

Upon motion by Green second by Moody, that the said resolution
be adopted as read; and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle de-
clared the said resolution duly passed and adopted:
The following copies of resolutions passed and adopted by the
Commissioners of the Sinking Fund of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, were
each read, and upon motion by Moody second by Green, the actions set forth
therein were approved, and it was ordered that the same be placed on file:
"Be it resolved by the Commissioners of the Sinking Fund of the City
of Rochester, Minnesota:
That the following sums be appropriated in the amount and
.for the Purpose stated for payment, to the First National Bank of
Rochester, Minnesota:
$l7,000 00 from Code 6 of. the Sinking Fund for the December 1,
1935 maturity of the City of Rochester Dewage Disposal Plant
Bonds Nos. 163 to 179' inclusive:
05,67500 from Code 19 of the Sinking Fund, $59-00040 thereof
to be for the December 1, 1935 maturity of City of Rochester
Improvement Bonds (New Central Fire Station) Nos. 21 to 25 inr
elusive, and $675 00 thereof to be for interest due December 19
1935 on bonds No st 21 to 50 inclusive:
$1121,251.25 from Code 20 of the Sinking Fund; 09,0000,00 thereof
to be for the December 1, 1935 maturity of City of Rochester Im-
provement Bonds (New City Hall) , Nos: 28 to 36 inclusive, and

339-251025 thereof to be for the December 19 1935 maturity of interest on
City of Rochester Improvement Bonds Nos. 28 to 180 inclusive.
$4,000-400 from Code 31 of the Sinking Fund for the December 19 1935
maturity of City of Rochester Refunding Bonds Nos:- 9 to 12 inclusive."
"Be it resolved by the Commissioners of the Sinking Fund of the City of
Rochester, Minnesota,:
That the sum of $49-2980-75 be and the said sum is hereby appropriated
from Code 3, of the Interest Fund and ordered paid to the First National Bank o
Rochester
/Minn. -eor the December 19 1935 matutil�y of interest on City of Rochester Sewage
nisposal Plant Bonds Nos. 163 to 350 inclusivei "
'tBe it resolved by the Commissioners of the Sinking Fund of the City of
Rochester, Minnesota;
That the sum of $276425 be and the s&id sum is hereby appropriated
from Code 7 of the Interest Fund; and ordered paid to the First National
Bank of Rochester, Minnesota; for the December 1, 1935 maturity of interest
on City of Rochester Refunding Bonds Nos. 9 to 21 inclusive. "
The application of James P. Sullivan for "Pin and Pall" Machine License
at 6 First Avenue Northwest, was read, and upon motion by Amundsen second by Green,
license was granted.
The application of S. J. Wentworth for Public Dance Permit at the
Woodman Hall November 30 and December 7 and 14, 1935 was read;
The application of J. C. Adams deb. a* the Town Taxi, for correction of
his, application and taxi cab license #14, so that the same shall read "Pontiac
Sedan", bearing state license !/215-4081, was read, and upon motion by Amundsen
second by Richman, it was ordered that the said license and application be corrected
accordingly;
The folloviing communication was read, and upon motion by Green second
by Richman, the 11ayor and City Clerk were instructed to notify the said Company of
the termination of the lease:

Under date of July 9th, 19341 the City of. Rochester leased
to the Shell Petroleum Company a certain piece of land south .of the
south abutment of the old North Broadway bridge to be used as a site
for an oil station. Under tibe terms of this contract, the City re-
served the right to cancel the lease upon thirty days notice. This
parcel of land is on the site of the proposed Silver Lake Dam, and
it is necessary that it be vacated before the construction is started
on the dame -
The Board of Park Commissioners respectfully request that your
Honorable Body notify the Shell Petroleum Company of your intentions
to cancel the lease in accordance_ with the terms of the contract:

premises, situated in the County of Olmsted; and State of
Minnesota, viz:
Commencing at a point on the West line of Block forty-three
(43). Northern Addition, Rochester, Minnesota, where the North
line of Thirteenth (13) Street Northeast intersects the West line
of Broadway Street North and running? Southeasterly along the North
line o f Thirt eenth (13) Street Northeast One hundr ed feet (100') ;
thence Northeasterly parallel with the East line of Bridge Street
to a point due east of the present south stone abutment of the

James F. Coon orally repluested that the Common Council transfer his
"Off -Sale" License to sell . -intoxicating liquors at 221 First Avenue, Southwest
to Mrs. Hazel Kitzman, and upon motion by Moody second by Amundsen, the said trans-
fer was granted, subject to the approval of the City Attorney, and filing of the
proper papers and bond therefor.
Alderman Amundsen introduced a resolution granting Public Dance Permit
to S. J. Wentworth for the Woodman Hall November 301) 1935, December 7 and 149 19359
and fixing the fee at d$9.00, which was read.
Upon motion by Lemmon second by Richman that the said resolution be
adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle declared the
said resolution duly passed and adopted:
Upon motion by Richman second by Amundsen, the Common Council
adjourned.
