Roll Call. Present: Lladle, hmmdsen, Fryer, Lemmon; and
;ichman. Absent: Green and Mood.
and President Liddle ordered that the same be placed on file
The call for a special meeting was read,/se.id meeting having
>een called for the purpose of, hearing and considering problems presented
by a Committee/'representing the Independent Labor Union of Olmsted County,
and any other business the Common Council might dews proper:

resented with a certified copy of resolution- passed by this Common

in this County, because the said wages were fixed and controlled by the
P. A. Departments at Washington; D. C:
Julius Ja Reiter was also before the Common Council in this matter,
offered his services in taking the matter -up with the Departments at

The City Attorney was asked for a ruling as to the legality of
sending del egat es to Washington on a mission of this kind.
Irving Eckholdt, City Attorney$ orally ruled that inasmuch as,
he purpose for which these persons were to go to Washington is for the
est interests of th-b City of Ro chest er as a whole, it is in hi.e =opinion
legal for the City to pay the e2penses of their trip.
Upon motion by Fryer second by Richman, and all voting in favor
thereof, it was, ordered that James F. ,*Doh be sent to Washington to

IIendeavor to secure a raise in the wages paid to the gorkers on W. P. Pu Projects,
in this City; the salary of $5040 per week and traveling expenses of said trip to
be paid by the City of Rochest er 9 through the NeVar' s Contingent Fund:
Upon motion by Amundsen second by Green; and all voting in favor
thereof; it was ordered that Julius J Reiter accompany Mr. Coon to Washington, D. C. ,
for the purpose of speeding up ac#ion on various applications for P. W. A: Grants,
at the above stated salary and traveling expenses- to be padd for through the Mayor' s
Contingent Funds
Upon motion by Lemon second by Amundsen; the sum of $1994'00 was ap-
propriated from Code 7 of the General Fund, and it was ordered that the same be paid
to W. A: Moore, Mayor$ for use in his Mayor's Contingent Fund, he to properly account
for the expenditures therefrow
The applications of M. L. Priebe for three "Pin and Ball" Machine
Licenses, were read, and upon motion by Green second by Richman, licenses were grant
Rochester
The Official Bond of Charles Shields, as Treasurer of the/Firemen's
Relief Association with the Aetna Casualty and Surety Co: , as surety thereon, in the
amount of $4900:00, was read, and upon motion by Richman second by Amundsen, the

Surety thereon was accepted, the said bond was approved, and it was ordered that
the same be placed on file.
Upon motion by Amundsen secdnd by Fryer, the City Clerk was authorized
and directed to sign the cancellation notice and agreeement, for the Aetna Casualty
and Surety Bondj3FB-16620, and the superseded suretyship rider for the Bond #37-F-1
both bonds covering Charles Shields as Treasurer of the Rochester Firemen's Relief
Association:

ing Weighing Fees collected $41a609 was read, and the City Clerk referred the same t
