HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-27-1936APR 0 7 1939 I Minutes of an adjourned regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of Rochest eF, Minnesota; held in the Council Chamb*rs, in the City E9 1 in said City$ at 7: 30 o'clock PaMi on April 279 1936: Meeting was called to order by President Liddlea Roll -;calls Present: Liddle, Amundsen, Fryer, Green, Moody; Ri cbmana Absents L emmon: U Upon motion by Richman, second by Amundsen; the minutes of the 17, meetings held February,/1936, February February 269 19369 March 29 1936 March 25 1936 March 119 19369 March 169 1936 V and March 309 1936; were each approved® President Liddl e _announced, this as being the time and place fixed for hearing on the construction of curb and gutter and bituminous treatment on Seventh Btr.eet, Southwest, batween Seventh Avenue and Eighth Avenue; and the alley in Block 24, in Head and McMahon' s Addition, and asked if there was any p Arson present who wished to be heard concerning this improvements r There was no person present who wished to heard on the curb and * r gutter, and bituminous treatment as above describ edQ President Liddle announced this as being the time and place fixed for the opening of bids for the above described improvement of Seventh Street Southwest and the alley in Block 24, Head and McMahon's Addition] The City Clerk reported that no bids had been received for this improvement. The condition of the bituminous treated streets done in 1935 was discussed;. and Alderman Moody stated that' in his opinion further action on this improvement under specifications similar to those for bituminous treatment done in 1935 should be given very serious consideration, due to the unsatisfactory conddition of the streets treated last years Upon motion by Moody, second by haundsen; further action on the construction of curb and gutter and bituminous treatment of Seventh Street Southwest, and the alley as above described was deferred to the meeting of this Common Council to be held on May 4th, 1936: Mrs. Harry Bermett of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the 'Whitlock - Sonnenberg Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars made oral request for permission to sell poppies on the streets of the City of Rochester, on u 661 on May 239 19 36; and th e' f ollOwing communi cat ion was read, and upon motion by Green ( second by Ricb mangy the requests of these two organizations ware. --granted: ". Alderman Richman introduced the following resolution, which was read: "Be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of.
