673 MAY 4. 1936 Minutes of a regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of Roch- ester, Minnesote, held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, in said City , on May 49 1936; The meeting was called to order at two o'clock P. M. by President Liddle, and dpon roll call, the following memh-Or.s were`Present: Liddle, Amundsen, Fryer, Greens Lemmon, -Moody; and Richman. Absent: None- > Upon motion by Moody second by Amundsen, the minutes of the previous meetings which had not heretofore been approved were approved. A petit ion ° signed by Harold Bout ells et. al; , requesting that Fourt eentl Avenue Northeast; across the Northwestern RailrAad tracks be opened, was read, and upon motion by Lemmon second by Green, the same was referred to the Street and Alley Committee, and the City Attorney to report at their earliest convenience4 The report of the Northern Natural Gas Company on gas tests taken at i Sioux City, Iowa, showing an,average BTU of 1008 for the week ending April 22, 1936, and an average BTU of 1005 for the week ending April 29, 1936, were each read: Communications from the Mayor making the following appointments as special policemen, for duty in all parks in the City of Rochester, they to serve without pay and to hold office until the second Moday in April, 1937, unless sooner (removed, were read, and President Liddle ordered that the same be placed on file: William Sessing, Harold Thompson, Dr R: L. Alderman Moody introduced the following resolution; which was read: "WHEREAS; through action by the Common Council; April 22, 1935, the papers; etc:, concerning the compensation award to Mrs. Linda Randall for the death of Charles. Aldeiman Green orally reported that Kris Nielson wishes to purchase a tract of land owned by the City of Rochester which was acquired in connection with the Sewage Disposal Plant; and upon motion by Green second by Ricbman, the same was referred to the Public Grounds Committees r Upon motion by Green second by Ricbman; Arleigh CV, Snith was appointed City Engineer for a term commencing May 5; 1936, to the second Monday in April 1937, and his official bond in the sum of 0500409 with the Employers Liability Assurance Corporation, as surety thereon, was read, the surety thereon was accepted, the said bond was approved, and it was ordered that the same be placed on file4 The Assistant City Engineer brought up the matter of purchasing tires for the grader, and upon motion by Lemmon second by Green; the matter was referred to the Purchasing Committ ee4 Upon motion by Richman second by Moody, the Common Council adjourned to seven thirty o'clock P.
