The Meeting was called to order at two o' clock P. M. by President
Liddle, and on roll call, the following. members were present: Liadle9 Anundsen;
Fryer, Green, Lemmon, ARoody, and Richman. Absent None: ' `
On motion by Moody second by Richman, the minutes of e meeting
of June 299 1936 were approved:
President Liddle simounced this as being the time and place fixed
for hearings on the following :street Improvements: Curb and Gutter in Ninth
Street Southwest from Eighth Avenue Southwest to, Tenth Avenue Southwest and
Ninth Avenue Southwest from Ninth Street Southwest to Tenth Street Southwest;
Sixth Avenue Southwest from Ninth Street Southwest to Tenth Street Southwest and
First Street Northwest from Twelfth Avenue Northwest to Thirteenth Avenue North-
west; and Sanitary Sewer in Ninth Avenue Southwest from Ninth Street Southwest
to Tenth Street Southwest, and asked if anyone present to be heard con-
cernin�- said improvements. There was no one opposed to said improvements and
several persons present expressed their views regarding the advisability of
making the said improvements:
President LidBbe announced this as being trhe time asid place fixed
for hearinti. on the levying of special assessnents for the constriction of sani-
tary sewer in Fifth Avenue Southeast from 1411.eventh Street Southeast, to Twelfth
Street' Soutlr.east, and Thirteenth Avenue Northeast from Center Street East to
the Chicago North 117estern P.eilroad Tracks, and asked if ,,nyone present wished

The report of the Northern Natural Gas Co. on gas tests taken
at Sioux City; Iowa, showing an average BTU of 998 for the w4ek ending June 17,

The report of the Bity Engineer for the month of June 19369 showing dis-
bursements for labor from the General Fund $616:88; from the Street and Alley Fund
11430.09, from the Sewer Fund 033908, from the Bridge rand $4:05; and from tyre P.I.R.
Fund •lt,11072, was read, and President Liddle ordered that the same be placed on file:
The report' of the Buildings Electrical and Plumbing Inspector for the
month of June 19369' showing building inspection fees $133:00 9 electrical inspection
Peas .$19 75" and plumbing inspection fees $51409 was read, and President Liddle re -
erred the same to the Finance Committee.

Alderman Anu.ndden introduced an Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance
for the purpose of promoting hekIths safety; order, convenience and general

The mutter of sidewalk construction on Ninth Street Northwest from Eighth
Avenue Northwest to 136-2 ft: west son Eigbh, Avenue Northwest from Ninth Street North -
Nest to 396 ft; south, and on the north and east sides of lot 26 Sub -division
ind the north side of lot 1, Subdivision "M"; were taken up at this time, and a
petition signed by Phil Lampman et al protesting against the construction of said
sidewalks, was read and ordered placed on file: Several persons preslant expressed
their .views for and against said improvements.
Alderman Richman introduced a resolution deeming it necessary that side-
walks be constructed in the following streets; and ordering the City Engineer to pub -
lash a notice pursuant to the provisions of Section 251 of the Charter of said City;
