COwan - to the second Monday in April 1939i H: E$ Whiting - to the second Monday in April 1940, and E. &:'Harkness - to the second Monday in April 194le On motion by Fryer second by Richman, the appointments of the above members of the Zoning Committee were approved: Mr. Carl Schwarz appeared before the Council regarding a parking place for his delivery truck, either in front of his place of business or in the alley adjoiningo President Liddle referred the matter to the Street and Alley Committee and the acting Chief of Police$ Mr. Matt Fitzpatrick; Chairman of the Municipal Ownership League of Rochester; addressed the Council regarding the advisability of the Council to serve notice on the Minnesota Northern Natural Gas Company of its intention to take over theoperation of the gas distribution system on August 19 1937; J. J. Reiter, Thomas Fraser, and Jane Beatty also spoke in favor of said propositions propo sit ions Rev$ A. On motion by Fryer second by Richman,that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle declared the said resolution duly passed and _adopted: Alderman Richman introduced an ordinance repealing an Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance to prohibit the riding of bicycles; velocipedes; and tricycles on the sidewalks on certain streets or avenues in the city; and to regulate and restrict the use of such vehicles on all other sidewalks, streets and avenues in said city; and prohibit the riding of motor -vehicles on sidewalks" being Ordinance #2729 which was given its first reading.
