Minutes of a special meeting ofthe Common Council of the City of
Rochester; Minnesota- held in the Council Chambers; in the City Hall - in said
City on November 279 19360
The meeting was called to order at seven thirty o'clock P. M. by
resident Liddleg and on roll call; the following members were present:-Liddl%
Amundsen; Fryer, Green; Lemmon"Moody- and Riebman*' Absent: Nonei
The call for a special meeting was read; said meeting having been
called for the purpose of considering the offer.of the United States to aid by
way of a grant in financing the construction of a City Warehouse; and any other
business the Common Council may deem proper%
On motion by Richman second by Amundsen, the minutes of the meeting
J f November 16 were approved:
Applications signed by Frank L; Carr and Peter Ganske, asking for
transfer of "On -WO,,- Non -Intoxicating Malt Liquor License #158 and "Off -
a* Non -Intoxicating Malt Liquor License #533,x from Frank L. Carr to Clayton
McCoy and Peter Ganskeg' were each read, and on.motion by Amundsen second by

Alderman Lemon introduced a resolution granting public dance permit to
Walter C: Heins for a public dance, to be held at the Woodman Hall on November 25 and
November 28; 1936 and fixing the fee at $64001. which was read4

Aldermen Amundsen introduced a resolution accepting the offer of .the

Alderman Lemmon" requested that an Ordinance requiring the owners and
occupants within the. City of Rochester to, -remove snow and ice from the sidewalk or.

thereof, in case of r enoval by the City Engineer of said City; . which was given its

Alderman Lemmon moved that said Ordinance be adopted as read; motion
seconded by Alderman Richman and upon roll call' Aldermen Amundsen; Green; Lemon and

Richman voted in favor of said motion and Aldermen Fryer and Moody against; whereupon

On motion by Green second by Fryer; the City Engineer; and the City
Attorney were instructed to notify Mrs; Edith Rommell that the City would pay
$45000 for the following described property: the south 17 feet of that part of
Lot 119 which lies westof the mill race and the north 43:19 feet of that part of

Lot 129 which lies west of the mill race, all in Block 102, Willson's Addition, to
be used for warehouse site; and if said offer was not accepted, condemnation proceed-
ings would be in$titut eds
The Lighting' Committee of the Common Council filed a written report recom-
mending that the following street lights be installed,and on motion by Lemmon second
by Richman; said report was filed and the City Clerk instructed to forward a copy to
the Public

.Alderman, Fryer made a motion that the tax levy for park improvewit
' purposes be left as fixed in the resolution adopted_ November 16; 1936; the
motion was seconded by Alderman Green which motion was duly carried4
Alderman Green brought up the matter regarding a ditch.to carry
IlOff the water in the park in Third Sbreet Southwest at Third StretSouthweet
and Ninth Avenue Southwest$ and .on motion by Lemmon second by Richman; the

rieted from the Interest Fund; and ordered paid.to the First National Bank
for interest due December 1; 1936; on City of Rochester bondsv ' '
Be it further resolved that ' said amount be appropriated from the
following divisions for interest on the following, bonds:

Alderman Fryer introduced a resolution appropriating $234-022 from the
F: E: Nilliams Estate Pund; and ordering payment made to the Kruse Lumber and Coal
Col for lumber;: cement and gravel furnished the Williams apartment property; which
was read;
On motion by Fryer second by Amundsen, that the said resolution be adopt

Alderman Fryer introduced a resolution appropriating $380.30 from the
Park Improvement Fund, and ordering payment made to the Mayo Trust Fund for payroll
