Minutes of an adjourned regular meeting of the Common Council
of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers, in the
City Hall, in said City on December 14th,1936.
The meeting was called to order by President Liddle, at
7:30 o'clock P..M.,the following members being present: Uddle, Amundsen,

Fryer, Green, Lemmon, Moody and Richman. Absent, None.
Upon motion by Amundsen second by Richman, the minutes of the
meeting of December 7th919369 were approved.
The report of the Clerk of the Municipal Court for the week
ending December 7th,19369 showing criminal fines and costs collected
$137.409 civil fees received $17.259 conciliation court fees received
$5.259 was read, and President Liddle referred the same to the City Attorney.
The surety bond of John P.Huyber, in the amount of $600.00 , with
the Aetna Rasualty and Surety Company as, surety, covering the erection
and maintenance of the Christmas street lighting, was read, and upon motion
by Lemmon, second by Richman, the bond was accepted, the surety thereon
was approved, and it was ordered that -the same be placed on file.
The application signed by Mrs. C.L.Connolly for permit to place
I11 t 1 11 and maintain a sign at 234- South Broadway, was read, and upon motion by
Green, second by Richman, permit was granted.
The following claims were read, .and upon motion by Lemmon, second

The following copy of resolution passed by the Commissioners of the
Sinking Fund was read, and upon motion by Moody, second by Amundsen, the action

therein was approved, and it was ordered that the same be placed on file:

"Be it resolved. by the Commissioners of the Sinking Fund of the City of
Rochester, Minnesota:
That the sum of $83,000:00 be and the said sum is hereby appropriated
."

Alderman Amundsen introduced a resolution granting public dance permit

Upon motion by Fryer second by Richman, that the said resolution be

adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle declared the said

resolution duly passed and adopted.
Alderman Richman introduced "etolftirbagappropriating $345 90 from the
Park Improvement Fund and oredering payment made to the Mayo Trust Fund for payrolls
for labor during the week ending December llth919369which was read:

upon motion by Richman second by Green that the said resolution
be adopt ed as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle
declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted.
A W.P.A. project proposal for waarrying, crushing, and stock
piling lime stone for surfacing streets, requiring a sponsors contribution
of $49312:009 was presented and on motion by Green second by Amundsen,
the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized and instructed to sign the said
proposal.

A. W.P.. A. project proposal for sanitary sewer est ens ion on
Sixth Street and Second Avenue Southwest, from South Broadway to the Sewer
i Irift in Soldier Pield,with a sponsors contribution of $3475:55, was
presented.
Alderman Green moved that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized
and instructed to sign the said project proposal; motion seconded by
Amundsen, and upon roll call, Amundsen, Green, Lemmon and Richman voted
"Aye", and Pryer and Moody voted "No", whereupon President Liddle declared

the said motion carried.
Members of the Park Board were presert and Mr *-Thompson Chairman
I of the Board, explained to the Council the position of the Park Board
j relative to funds for carrying on W.P'A:pro ject s:

• 0n motion by Gryer, second by Richman, the City Clerk was
j instructed to advertise for bids for the purchase of the property kp.own
as the Witherstine Property, the said proposals to be received until
7:30 o'clock -P.M., on December 28th,1936.
Mr.L.W.Reents pspresenting the iJuality Print ,Shop presented a
sketch of stationery to be used for all City departments, and upon motion
by Lemon second by Richman, the matter was referred to the Purchasing
Committ ee. of the Common Council.
Upon motion by Moody second by Richman the Common Council adjourned
to 7: 30 o'clock P.M. on December 28th,1936.
