Minnesota; held in the Council Chaalbers, in the City Hall, in F' said City, on December 29th,1936. y, The meeting was called to order by President Liddle at 7:30 O'clock P.M.) the following members being present : Liddle, Amundsen, Fryer, Green, Lemon, Moody, Richman. Absent: None. A committee representing the City Hockey Team was before the Common Council and asked that the Common Council through the Public Utility Board, furnish water and electricity for a skating rink suitable for use as Hockey games. Alderman Richman introduced the following resolution,which was read: "WHEREAS, The City Engineer and Peter P.Bross, Architect, have pre- pared and submitted plans, profiles, specifications, and estimate of cost for the construction of a new City Warehouse building; SO THFREFORE, Be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota: That the said new City Warehouse building be constructed upon the s. property owned by the City of Rochester at the northeast corner of the intersection a of Sixth Street Southwest and First Avenue Southwest, and the said plans, profiles, rr, , and specifications are hereby adopted for the construction of the said new City Warehouse building, and it is ordered that the same be placed on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and it is ordered that the said estimate of cost be accepted and placed on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City. Be it further resolved by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota: That the City Clerk of said City be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to advertise for sealed proposals for the furnishing of all labor, materials, .T equipment, t ool3, et c. ,. necessary for the construction of the new City filar ehou se bdilding in accordance with the said plans, profiles, and specifications ,which §: sealed bids , will be received and opened at a meeting of this Common Council which is t to be held in the Council Chambers, in the City Hall, in said City, at 7:30 o'clock P.M., on January 20th,1937. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check upon some reputable bank drawn payable to the Mayor of Rochester, Minnesota, for at least 10 percent of the amount of the bid, which check and the amount of money speciPtbd therein shall be forfeited to the City of Rochester, Minnesota, as liquidated damages if the bidder upon the letting of the contract to him shall fail to enter into the contract so let; the said Common Council reserving the right to reject' any and all bids. A surety bond written for the full amount of the contract by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Minnesota, will be required with the contract* (Personal bonds not to be accepted.) 154 DEC. 2411936 All proposals must be addressed to Mr.Amiel L.Glabe, City Clerk of Ro chest er, Minnesota, and shall ' have endorsed thereon, "Proposal for the construction of a new City Warehouse Building.". upon motion by Richman second by Green,: that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Liddle declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted.
