Council of the City' of Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chembers in the City Hall, in said City f on July 6th,1937. President Liddle called the meeting to order at 2:00 O'clock P. vt. , the following members being present: Liddle, Amundsen, Fryer, Green, Lemmon, Moody, I� Richman. Absent: None. j President Liddle stated this as being the time set for a hearing on the placing of bit-aninous treatment on Fourth Avenue Southwest frdm Sixth Street South- west to Seventh Street Southwest, and asked if any one present wished to be heard i concerning the said improvements. There was no one present who wished to be heard. 6 . This being the time set for opening b =ds for the furnishing of an auto- i �i matic fire alarm repeater for the fire alarm system, the following bid was received :i and opened at this time: The Gamewell Company $2076.50. President Liddle referred the above bid to C.&Ginther,Fire Chief, for r ec cmmendat ion. The report of the Building,Electrical and Plumbing Inspector for the month of June,showing building permits issued $64000, Electrical permits issued 5 24.00 and plumbing; permits issued $107:00, was read, and President Liddle referred the same to the Finance Committee: !, The report of t;::ie City Engineer for the month of June, 1937, showing disbursements for labor from the General Fund $925.11, from the Street and Alley Fund $2074 28, and from the Sewer Fund $20.7.369 was read, and President Liddle ordered'that the same be placed on file: A petition signed by Edward F. Stolp, et.al., regarding the odor and noise involved in the operation and processing of milk at the H. & H. Dairy was read, and on motion by Green second by Fryer, the said petition was referred to the Public Health and Welfare Board. An application signed by Archie Watson, for appointment as City Scavenger, � I was read and President Liddle referred the same to the Public Health & Welfare Board.: 348 l Mr. E. L. Van Atta Commander of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, i� was before the Council and st at ed that the State Convention of said organiza- tion would be held at Chisholm, Minnesota, on July 7th, 8th, and 9th,1937, and at that time an invitation would be extended by the said organization to hold the 1938 convention at Rochester, and re;_uested that the Common Council send an invitation to the present State Commander, George White. Upon motion by Lemmon second by Fryer, We'R.Lidc:.le, Acting Mayor, was instructed to invite the Veterans of Foreign,. Wars to the City of RochestEr for their 1938 convention. An application signed by Otto Stercks for a drivers license was read, and on motion by Amundsen second by Richman the license was granted. is i An application signed by the Service Grocery Store, Helen Gillespie and the First 14ational Bank, to place and maintain signs, were each separately read, and on motion by Amundsen second by Richman, permits �! were granted. 1 The following Committee report was read, and President Liddle_ ii r I; ordered that the same be placed on file: "Rochester qMinnesota, July 6th,1937. Alderman Fryer introduced a resolution appropriating $2216.06 from the General Fund and ordering payment made to Code 10 of the Street and Alley Fund, for i transfer of funds to take up balance of the cost of snow removal for the 1936-1937 i season, which was read. Alderman Green introduced a resolution appropriating $2,000.00 from the j { Sewer Fund, for use of the Street and Alley Committee, which was read. Alderman Fryer introduced a resolution authorizing the Hoard of Health and Welfare to spend $350.00 for the purpose of carrying on a. clinic for treatment of ;onorreha, which was read.
