HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-25-1937465 OCT 1937 Minutes of a special meeting'of the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers; in the City Hall, in said City, on October 25th91937. ° President Liddle called the meeting to order at 7: 30 0' clock Paid. , the IIfollowing members being present: Liddle, Amundsen,` Fryer, Green, L emmon, Moody, Richman. Absent: None. ° The call for the special meeting wAs read and President Liddle ordered that the same be placed on file; said meeting having been called for the purpose of considering the request of the Board of Education of School District No.B, for II submitting a proposed bond issue to the voters of said School District, and for any other purpose the ,said Common Council might deem proper. $ogjAp of nezolutions passed by the Board of Education of Independent School District No 39 asking that the matter of authorizing the issuance of $850000. 0 bonds of said District for the purpose of constructing and equipping additions to th Central School Building and -Hawthorne School Building be submitted to the electors II of said School District were read and President Liddle ordered that the same be placed on file. A number of persons 'residing in the vicinity of the Hawthorne School were present and through their attorney D.B.Hunt asked thata,ction on the request of the Board of Education be deferred in order that some assurance might be had from said Board that should the proposed bond issue fail to carry that the addition to 11 the Hawthorne School building would be finance from some other sources. Upon motion by Fryer second ty Richman action on the request of the IIBoard of Education was deferred until 7:30 o'clock P.M., on October 26th,1937. Applications signed by Edward H. Deitschman and Joseph Blake asking t Off sale ilon-intoxicating malt liquor license No.292 and on sale license No.206, issued to Edward H. Deitschman at '16 Third Street Southeast be transferred to Joseph Blake at the same address, were read, and on motion by Richman second by Amundsen transfer was granted. The applications signed by Edward. H. Deitschman and Joseph Blake aski that Pin Ball license No.103 issued to Edward HDeit schman at 16 Third Street South- east be transferred to Joseph Blake at the same address were read, and on motion by Green second by Fryer, transfer was granted: a 466 OCi Applications signed by M. J. Myrow and Don'=,Enke and Floyd Shewell asking that off sale non -intoxicating malt liquor license No.257, and On sale license No.193, issued to M.J.Myrow at 119 North Broadway bb trans- . _ferred to Don Ehke and Floyd Shewell at the same address, were each read, and on motion by Amundsen. second by Green transfers were granted. Applications signed by M:J.Myrow and Don Enke asking that pin ball machine license No495 issued to M.J.Myrow at 119 North Broadway be transferred to Don Enke and Floyd Shewell at the same address, were i read, and on motion by Fryer second by Richman transfer was granted. Applications for soft drink dealer licenses signed by Joseph Blake at 16 Third Street Boutheast, and Don Enke at 119 North BDoadwaywere each read, and on motion by Amundsen second by Moody licenses were granted. Upon motion by Fryer second by Richman the Commqn Council adjourned to 7:30 o'clock P.M., on Oct ober.26th,1937. City Clerk. I
