I have enjoyed my associations with you in the past and hope to continue in your goad will. 1= My work with the city has been a pleasure but inasmuch as there is no i chance for advancement I am desirous of entering another field wherein ' I, I may be able to accomplish this. E.Zuehlke, Paul Aberwald, George A.White, Elmer Emerson, C.C.Pagenhart, Otto Johnson, Herbert Fordham, and Walter Biegel, for appointment as Building, Electrical and Plumbing Inspector for the City of Rochester, were read. On motion by Hryer second by Green said applications were ordered placed; on file and further action on said appointment deferred until some later date. !I The following committee report was read, and President Liddle ordered that the same be placed on file: "April 25, 1938 Hon. Mayor & Common Council :Gentlemen: The Street and Alley Committee and City Engineer recommend that all bids be rejected. Respectfully, THE STREET AND ALLEY COMMITTEE By Benj. Upon motion by: Moody second by Green, all proposals for furnishing a bituminous distributor were rejected and the City Clerk h - authorized to return the certified checks Vhith accompanied said proposals. On motion by Green second by Moody, the City Clerk was instructed to prepare a resolution accepting specifications and estimate I of cost for a new bituminous distributor. Alderman Lemmon introduced the following resolution,which was read: "WHEREAS, The Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, deem it etpedient and necessary that local public improvements, the cost and expense of which shall be paid by special assessments levied as provided by law, be made in said City of Rochester, Minnesota, the said improvements being described as follows: The placing of bituminous treatment on: Third Avenue Southwest from Second Street Southwest to Third Street Southwest; Fourth Avenue Southwest from Second Street Southwest to First Street Northwest; Fourth Place Southwest from First Street Southwest to Second Street Southwest; Seventh Avenue Southwest from Sixth Street Southwest to Eleventh Street Southwest; Sixth.
