AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND ENACTING SUBDIVISION 11
OF SECTION 62.141 AND SUBDIVISION 6 OF SECTION 62.263
OF THE ROCHESTER CODE OF ORDINANCES, RELATING TO
MEDICAL STAY DWELLINGS.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROCHESTER DO ORDAIN:
Section 1. Subdivision 11 of Section 62.141 of the Rochester Code of Ordinances is
hereby created and enacted to read as follows:
Subd. 11. Medical Stay Dwelling Unit: A dwelling unit where
accommodations are furnished exclusively to medical patients, their families, and
caregivers while the patient is receiving or waiting to receive health care
treatments or procedures for a period of one week or more, and where no
supportive services, health supervision, or home care services are provided.
Medical Stay Dwelling Units must hold a valid lodging license from the applicable
state or county agency.
Section 2. Subdivision 6 of Section 62.263 of the Rochester Code of Ordinances is
hereby created and enacted to read as follows:
Subd. 6. In all district where residential uses are allowed, a Medical Stay
Dwelling Unit is a Type I use. District Standards and Site Appearance Standards
shall match the number of dwelling units allowed in the building.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the date of its
publication.
