WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the following improvement(s): Anhydrous Ferric
Chloride and Liquid Aluminum Sulfate bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following
bids were received complying with the advertisement:
Liquid Aluminum Sulfate - approximately 300 tons.
Chemtrade $123,725.00
C & S Chemical No bid
Kemira No bid
Hawkins No bid
PVS Technologies No bid
Univar USA $105,350.00 and,
Anhydrous Ferric Chloride - approximately 375 tons.
PVS Technologies $194,598.30
Hawkins $195,624.00
Kemira No bid
Chemtrade No bid
C & S Chemical No bid
Univar USA No bid and;
bidder.
WHEREAS, it appears that Univar USA and PVS Technologies are the lowest responsive and responsible
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota:
(1) That the bid of $105,350 and $194,598.30 is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to execute the standard City contract for construction with Univar USA and PVS Technologies
in the name of the City of Rochester for the following local improvement(s): Anhydrous Ferric Chloride and
Liquid Aluminum Sulfate according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the Common Council and
on file in the office of the City Clerk.
(2) The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with
their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract
has been executed.
All contracts shall be executed by the bidder within ten days after the contract is ready for his signature, and if
not executed by him in said time, he shall be deemed to have abandoned the same.
