HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 278-16 Hearing for certification for collection with taxes for unpaid administrative citattionsResolution Approving Certification WHEREAS, pursuant to proper notice duly given and as authorized by Rochester Code of Ordinance Chapter 5, the council has met and heard and passed upon all objections to the proposed certification for collection with taxes for unpaid administrative fines for snow removal violations. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota: 1. The proposed certification roll, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, is hereby accepted and shall be certified to the county auditor for collection with taxes against the lands named therein. 2. The amounts identified on the certification roll include the unpaid fine and authorized fees and charges and shall be payable in equal installments extending over a period of one year. The first of the installments shall be payable on or before the first Monday in January, 2017, and shall bear interest at the rate of 5 percent per annum from the date of the adoption of this certification resolution. To the first installment shall be added interest on the entire amount of unpaid fine, fees and charges from the date of this resolution until December 31, 2016. 3. The owner of any property subject to the certification for collection with taxes, at any time prior to certification of the roll to the county auditor, pay the whole of the certification on such property, with interest accrued to the date of payment, to the city treasurer, except that no interest shall be charged if the entire certification is paid within 30 days from the adoption of this resolution. 4. Such certification shall be collected and paid over in the same manner as other municipal taxes. ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA, THIS DAY OF 12016.
