HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 4193 - RCO134.ParkingLotRegulations ORDINANCE NO AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND ENACTING SUBDIVISION 28 TO SECTION 134.01 AND SECTION 134.49 TO THE ROCHESTER CODE OF ORDINANCES, RELATING TO PARKING LOT REGULATIONS AND PROVIDING A DEFINITION. THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROCHESTER DO ORDAIN: Section 1. Subdivision 28 to Section 134.01 to the Rochester Code of Ordinances is hereby created and enacted to read as follows: Subd. 28. "Parking Lot" or "Parking Lots" means every parking area owned or operated by the City of Rochester, including parking ramps, lots, and garages. Section 2. Section 134.49 to the Rochester Code of Ordinances is hereby created and enacted to read as follows: 134.49. Parking Lot and Cleaning, Maintenance, Construction. No person, unless authorized by the Public Works Department to do so, shall park a vehicle in a City public parking lot, or any portion thereof, that has been signed for no parking for cleaning, maintenance, or construction activities. The no parking areas designated under this section shall go into effect no earlier than 12 hours after the signs have been posted, and shall remain in effect until removed at the direction of the Public Works Department or the City's contracted parking management company. A violation of any provision of this section will result in the towing and impounding of the violator's vehicle. All costs associated with towing, impoundment and storage shall be the responsibility of the vehicle owner. The order for towing shall be placed by the Rochester Police Department, Public Works Department, or the City's contracted parking management company. Section 3. This ordinance shall be effective upon the date of its publication. PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA, THIS DAY OF , 2015.
