The following is a summary of the Transportation Network Companies Ordinance as adopted by the Rochester Common Council on January 4, 2017, and is published pursuant to Section 6.07 of the Rochester Home Rule Charter and Section 331A.01, subd. 10 of the Minnesota Statutes. The Rochester Common Council approved the publication of this ordinance summary at its January 4, 2017, meeting. A copy of this ordinance is on file at the Office of the City Clerk, 201 Fourth Street S.E., Room 135, Rochester, MN, and at the Rochester Public Library, 101 Second Street S.E., Rochester, MN. This ordinance authorizes transportation network companies to do business in Rochester whereby passengers are connected by way of the Internet and mobile apps with drivers who provide transportation using their own private, non-commercial vehicles.
