HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 4322 - Second Reading: RiverfrontCommonsSpecialDistrict.OrdinanceAmendment ORDINANCE NO. _____ AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND ENACTING SUBPART (d) OF SUBSECTION (5) OF SUBPARAGRAPH (b) OF PARAGRAPH (2) OF CLAUSE C OF SUBDIVISION 7 OF SECTION 64V.230, SUBPART (e) OF SUBSECTION (5) OF SUBPARAGRAPH (b) OF PARAGRAPH (2) OF CLAUSE C OF SUBDIVISION 7 OF SECTION 64V.230, SUBSECTION (6) OF SUBPARAGRAPH (c) OF PARAGRAPH (2) OF CLAUSE C OF SUBDIVISION 7 OF SECTION 64V.230, PARAGRAPHS (2) AND (3) OF CLAUSE D OF SUBDIVISION 7, SECTION 64V.230, AND AMENDING AND REENACTING SUBSECTION (1) OF SUBPARAGRAPH (b) OF PARAGRAPH (2) OF CLAUSE C OF SUBDIVISION 7 OF SECTION 64V.230 OF THE ROCHESTER CODE OF ORDINANCES, RELATING TO THE TOWN CENTER DISTRICT SIGN REGULATIONS OF THE RIVERFRONT COMMONS SPECIAL DISTRICT. THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROCHESTER DO ORDAIN: Section 1. Subpart (d) of Subsection (5) of Subparagraph (b) of Paragraph (2) of Clause C of Subdivision 7 of Section 64V.230 of the Rochester Code of Ordinances is hereby created and enacted to read as follows: (d) For multi-tenant buildings, total wall signage per tenant shall not exceed either 10% of the tenant wall area or 50 square feet, whichever is greater. Section 2. Subpart (e) of Subsection (5) of Subparagraph (b) of Paragraph (2) of Clause C of Subdivision 7 of Section 64V.230 of the Rochester Code of Ordinances is hereby created and enacted to read as follows: (e) For multi-tenant buildings, tenants that occupy greater than 50% of the gross square footage, total wall signage shall not exceed 100 square feet. Section 3. Subsection (6) of Subparagraph (c) of Paragraph (2) of Clause C of Subdivision 7 of Section 64V.230 of the Rochester Code of Ordinances is hereby created and enacted to read as follows: (6) Internal lighting allowed for canopy sign illumination. Internally-illuminated canopy signs shall be considered as Wall Signs for permitted sign size. 1 Section 4. Paragraphs (2) and (3) of Clause D of Subdivision 7 of Section 64V.230 of the Rochester Code of Ordinances is hereby created and enacted to read as follows: (2) Free-Standing Entry Canopy Sign Height: (a) Free Standing Sign at entry canopy shall not exceed five square feet in size. (b) Maximum height shall not exceed 12 feet measured from grade to top of sign. (c) Internal lighting allowed for sign illumination. (3) Wall Signs: (a) One mounted wall sign is allowed on southwest façade. (b) Sign height not to exceed building height. (c) Maximum size shall not exceed 12 square feet. Section 5. Subsection (1) of Subparagraph (b) of Paragraph (2) of Clause C of Subdivision 7 of the Rochester Code of Ordinances is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: (1) One mounted wall sign is allowed for each façade visible from a dedicated right-of-way or private street. Saw tooths, projections, and short lengths of wall are not considered as a major façade. For multi-tenant buildings, a maximum of one mounted wall sign is allowed for each portion of tenant space along a façade visible from a dedicated right-of-way or private street. Tenant spaces not located along a façade visible from a dedicated right-of-way or private street are permitted a maximum of one wall sign to be located on one of the visible facades. Section 6.
